Does your business need to better understand the technology that is considered the most powerful of our time? With the help of a training course specially adapted to small and medium-sized enterprises, the Cluster for Applied AI, together with key knowledge partners, will carry out a competence boost for applied artificial intelligence during the autumn of 2022.

The course will give your organization the opportunity to process business cases and, with the help of facilitated guidance, turn them into real business opportunities or start a strategic learning journey. The training is suitable for managers and middle managers, and will be held in September 2022 with different locations in Eastern Norway.

Practical implementation and content
Preparation module

Preparation of cases for the course. You will receive written guidance on what kind of cases from your own company might be suitable, or you can choose from a set of predefined cases.

  • Forms and characteristics of ML, relevant related technologies and the best methods to use them
  • How to exploit ML features: building ML use cases, evaluating key aspects of ML applications
  • New management mindsets for data-driven transformation and innovation
  • Motivation and employee engagement

Homework between modules: Use case refined, AI canvas (followed by a group discussion), generic use cases

Module 2

When: September 14, 09.00-15.00

Location: Halden

  • Examples of how businesses from different industries are using AI
  • Implementation plan for ML
  • Ethical AI

Homework between modules: Develop a roadmap for project implementation

Module 3

When: September 22, 09.00-15.00

What are you learning?

At the end of the training course, participants should

  • Understand what artificial intelligence is and what kind of problems it is suitable for solving
  • Be familiar with a range of applications of the technology
  • Understand the role of data and how to work to ensure sufficiently good data to work with artificial intelligence
  • Understand the dangers of using data incorrectly
  • Understand how artificial intelligence should be implemented in the business model of the organization, and be able to say something about how to validate models
  • Be able to say something about how corporate culture can facilitate the adoption of technologies such as artificial intelligence
  • Be able to reflect on basic ethical principles that may be important in your organization's application of AI, including issues related to sustainability
  • Understand what skills are required within the business to adopt AI and how to work with external environments
  • Have a deeper understanding related to a specific application of artificial intelligence in an area related to their own business, possibly in the form of an example case

The training is developed and delivered by experienced technologists from Simula Consulting and the Institute for Energy Technology, and great emphasis is placed on making the training easily accessible to people from other disciplines. Digital Norway and Smart Innovation Norway contribute with their broad expertise related to training, networking and facilitation. The training is supported by Viken County Council, and it will be free to participate for cluster partners!
